UK pavilions commitment to Medica

With the unprecedented circumstances caused by COVID-19, there have been a number of questions whether Medica, the largest medical technology exhibition in the world, will go ahead this year.

Messe Düsseldorf, the organisers of Medica, are still planning for the show to take place from 16th to 19th November, with Medilink UK and Gambica being committed to organising UK pavilions at the exhibition.

GAMBICA and Medilink UK have been taking part in Medica for 30 years, and whilst we appreciate that 2020 presents an unprecedented challenge, both organisations are committed to the successful, safe and professional delivery of the British pavilions at the exhibition. Medilink UK is in regular contact with the exhibition organisers as we share the view that the safety of exhibitors, delegates and ‘on site’ workers is paramount.

International Trade Shows Link, Messe Düsseldorf’s representatives in the UK, responded to the recent concerns:

“We are delighted that we have the green light from the relevant Authorities in Germany to resume exhibitions in the Autumn, and we are all looking forward to another Medica after what has been a difficult and challenging time for the world.  This will be an excellent meeting point for the Medical sector to come together to share their latest ideas and developments and we remain committed to supporting you all in any way we possibly can.

The continued strong presence of such a large number of UK independent exhibitors is encouraging to see, and we are delighted that the two national pavilions from both Gambica and Medilink will be participating at the show again in 2020. We look forward to supporting the UK pavilions, our independent UK exhibitors and visitors to the show in November and until that time, please stay safe and healthy.” – Simona Novelli MBE, Managing Director

After careful consideration both Medilink UK and GAMBICA in partnership with the Department for International Trade are committed to the delivery of a UK presence during Medica 2020. We look forward to working with you in November and will keep you up to date of all developments throughout the coming months.

Through Medilink UK’s strong partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT), there is funding available (£2,500 TAP grant subject to eligibility criteria and offered on a first come, first served basis ) to support eligible UK companies with their exhibiting costs at this event.
